Health Canada, it should be more like help Canada. These high-class acts have all but totally screwed the pooch with cannabis, practically ruining a culture to make way for an industry. Health Canada and the regulatory commission that oversees Canadian cannabis is at it again. First, they kill off the mom and pop craft cannabis farms across Canada that grew plants to perfection. Now, these highly taught professionals believe that 10mg is strong enough for cannabis edibles in Canada for both recreational and medical patients.
Coming from the point of view of a long-term cannabis consumer (being myself) I’ll be the first to tell you that to me, this notion is a joke. It makes me believe that the individuals regulating the market know absolutely nothing about it. A 10 mg cannabis-infused edible for someone with no tolerance to cannabis can be too much, this is true. All in all, this can be a bad experience for a first-time consumer. This is why 10 mg every 2 hours is the recommended dosage for someone new to cannabis-infused edibles. However, to regulate a 10 mg cannabis-infused edible limitation is ridiculous.
Limit of 10mg – Ridiculous Right?
That’s like saying all we need is one variety of aspirin, Tylenol, or other medications. All you need is a hundred mg Tylenol. We don’t need extra strength Tylenol or Tylenol PM. Moreover, we most certainly are not going to allow it to be sold illegally. Apparently, that didn’t work so well because those products are on the shelves. Oh yeah, there was no opposition to these products. The only opposition comes from misguided individuals who are confused about the process of how cannabis works. Speaking as a long-term consumer I also believe that the recreational market should be regulated to have controlled dosages.
Or it would be like saying you can have alcohol, but we are only going to sell it by the shot. We are adults. If we are stupid and consume too much because we didn’t head the caution on the labelling, then we will pay the consequences. With cannabis, at least there is absolutely no chance of fatality and simply eating, showering, and sleeping is enough to bring most people back to a balanced state.
Take it Low and Slow – Be A RESPONSIBLE Adult
Someone new to cannabis that is trying a recreational cannabis-infused product for the first time should only consume 10 mg at once. Consuming more than this could lead to a bad experience. In return ultimately leading to the decision to not partake in edibles ever again.
If you’re new to cannabis you must remember that you need crawl before you walk, otherwise it’s like having two left feet. Take it slow and build it up to the level you’re comfortable with.
