Celebrity cannabis seems to be a hit. It would only seem natural for celebrity cannabis to find its niche in this quickly budding market. Celebrities such as Whoopi Goldberg, Joe Montana, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tommy Chong, Melissa Etheridge, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, and others have all taken a stake in the cannabis sector. Celebrities are seeing much success with cannabis sales.
Willie Nelson has seen good sales from his brand of Willies Reserve. Go to Colorado, and you can find Leafs by Snoops cannabis-infused edibles just about everywhere. Kurupt’S moon rocks and Wiz Khalifa’s flower line are also very popular.
Most recently, Mike Tyson announced that he will be holding The Kind Music Festival on the Tyson Ranch Resort. This ranch is coincidentally 420 acres. The event will take place on Feb 23rd and is an all ages event.
What About the People That Have Kept the Culture and Plant Alive?
Many people that venture into the legal cannabis sector are capitalizing on the hard work of countless grassroots advocates. They have businesses that rake in big profits. Meanwhile, there are still people sitting in jail that helped facilitate the movement of cannabis. If not for the countless individuals arrested for “drug trafficking”, the plant may not have had the support it receives from the people today.
Those who have felony charges relating to cannabis are often times given the boot when it comes to the cannabis sector. Instead of giving these individuals the prime positions, they go to individuals who often have very little knowledge about the plant or culture.
Celebrity Cannabis Isn’t for Everyone
Celebrity weed isn’t for everybody. For those of us who have a love for the community, culture, and lifestyle that is cannabis, most of us prefer to grow our own or get it from someone we know who puts love into their grow. It’s hard to give love to your plants when you’re growing them by the thousands. Small mom-and-pop craft cannabis growers are finding themselves being pushed out of a billion dollar industry.
Meanwhile, it seems that corporations and celebrities are receiving the red carpet rollout. Not all of us are cool with that. Not to mention from a personal point of view I think that most of the celebrity cannabis consists of too much packaging and pure waste. However, that’s just my opinion.
