Oh crap, I’m too high and need to come down! What do I do? I’m starting to panic! Has this ever been you or someone you know? Chances are if you’re a veteran cannabis consumer this would never be an issue for you, but this may have been a problem for someone you know. If so, you probably wish you knew what to say or do to help.
Let’s look at some options that may help out with the come-down process.
Staying hydrated will help your body have more energy and help you to feel better. If you’re not staying hydrated when you’re consuming cannabis, you’re doing it wrong.
Caffeine Minus the Sugar
Have a cup of coffee and drink that puppy black if you can. The coffee won’t necessarily check you out of cloud 9, but it will help clear your mind. Anandamide aka the Bliss molecule is a chemical created naturally in the body, and its production is facilitated by caffeine.
If you have time for a rest though, that’s the best idea. When it comes to the best way to come down from cannabis high that’s too much, sleep beats it all.
Know Your Tolerance
The best way to avoid being too high and needing to come down in a hurry is to learn your tolerance level. New cannabis consumers may find themselves feeling a little foggy and even hung over, whereas seasoned cannabis consumers rarely find this ever to be an issue.
With cannabis, there is never a risk of fatality as long as you don’t do something stupid. Unlike other intoxicants, you can’t physically die from consuming too much. With this in mind, sometimes the best thing to do when you find yourself a little too stoned is to simply distract yourself. Put on a funny movie, read your favorite book, watch stupid cat videos on YouTube (if that’s your thing) or partake in whatever it is that you enjoy doing to help keep your mind focused on something else. Before you know it, that feeling of over-intoxication will have floated away!
If all else fails and you’re too high after all of this, try getting off the counter or stepping down off the table. 😉
